Towing in Pennsylvania: the published maximums and your rights
No statewide dollar maximum was verified in the state sources checked in October 2026. The verdict here is the rights layer and the complaint path — never an invented cap.
Rules checked October 2026
Pennsylvania storage maximum per U.S. PIRG, Getting Off the Hook (2021); Philadelphia ordinance card
| Charge | Published maximum |
|---|---|
| Maximum storage | $25.00/day |
The state's shape
Pennsylvania sets no maximum towing rate, but caps daily storage at $25 (U.S. PIRG state survey). Philadelphia publishes its own card — see the city page.
Kickbacks
U.S. PIRG's state survey (2022) found no law here banning kickbacks to property owners for private-property tows. If money changed hands behind your tow, that fact still belongs in your complaint.
Who takes the complaint
State Attorney General — Consumer Protection.
